The 5K Celebration of Life helps save lives by increasing awareness of the value of organ and tissue donation. In 2019, Team Wayne G took part in their first 5K Celebration of Life. Since then, Team Wayne G has raised more than $36,000 in just seven years! As we approach the 10-year anniversary of Wayne's passing, our goal this year is to honor his legacy by continuing to raise awareness and support for organ and tissue donation. Everyone who had the privilege of knowing Wayne knows that he was a loving, trustworthy, and easygoing guy with the biggest heart. If you were lucky enough to know Wayne, you knew you always had someone in your corner. He was always the first to lend a helping hand and to listen with an open mind. Wayne was a devoted son, husband, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. 

On July 25, 2016, Wayne was taken from his family and friends at the young age of 34. This year marks ten years since we lost him, and not a day goes by that he is not remembered and missed. Through his most selfless and priceless gift—organ donation—Wayne was able to give others the gift of life. While his family and friends continue to grieve his loss, we find comfort in knowing that Wayne was able to give others a second chance and a better quality of life.

It is a privilege for Team Wayne G to participate in the 5K Celebration of Life, which honors Wayne and all the other heroes who gave, celebrates those who received, and brings hope to those who are still waiting while remembering the lives lost awaiting the gift of life.
