In Memory of My Uncle Sa

My Uncle Sal was truly a light in this world. If you knew him, you know exactly what I mean. He had the biggest heart, the warmest smile, and this way of making you feel safe, supported, and deeply loved just by being around him. He filled rooms with laughter. He showed up for people. He made you feel like you mattered.
He loved the Yankees with all his heart and I mean truly loved them. I remember watching and even playing the game with him while he was in the hospital. No matter what he was facing, he still found joy in baseball, in connection, and in being present with the people he loved. That was just who he was. The game was not just a game to him. It was tradition, family, and love.
More than anything, he loved his family. He was an incredible dad, son, brother, husband, and friend to everyone who was lucky enough to be loved and guided by his light. He protected. He supported. He gave so much of himself to others. Being loved by him was truly a gift.
Even in his passing, he continued to give.
Through organ donation, his final play was saving lives. That is the kind of man he was. Selfless, generous, and thinking about others until the very end. Knowing that his legacy lives on through the lives he saved brings comfort to our family in a way that is hard to put into words.
We are running this 5K in his honor to support the NJ Sharing Network and the life saving work they do every day. Carrying on his legacy means everything to us. His light did not end. It continues in the lives he touched and in the second chances he made possible.
If you are able, please consider donating in his memory. A small donation can truly go a long way in helping save more lives, support donor families, and give hope to those waiting for their own second chance. It would mean more to my family and me than we can fully express to know that his legacy continues to make an impact.
Thank you for helping us honor an incredible man.
Forever our All Star.
