A few years ago, I was facing a reality I never imagined—my health was failing, and I didn’t know what the future would hold. Before my transplant, I was on dialysis. It’s hard to explain just how draining that was—physically, emotionally, and mentally. It felt like life was on pause. Everything revolved around treatments. I was exhausted, worried, and unsure of what tomorrow would look like.
But everything changed because of two incredible women—my sisters, Clara and Veronica. They gave me the gift of life through kidney donation.Their selfless act didn’t just save me—it gave me back my freedom. I could finally live without being tethered to a machine. I could start a family. I could be present. Today, I get to watch my children grow up, laugh with them, and just be their dad. That’s something I never take for granted.
Clara and Veronica didn’t just give me more time—they gave me this time. The moments that make life meaningful. Their gift lives in every hug, every milestone, every day I get to be present with the people I love most.
I’m sharing my story not just to thank them, but to honor what organ donation can do. It changes lives—not just for the person receiving it, but for everyone around them.
I'm also incredibly grateful to be connected with NJ Sharing Network, whose work ensures that stories like mine are possible. Their mission has brought hope to so many families, including mine, and I’m proud to be part of a community that understands just how powerful giving can be.
As we gather for the Celebration of Life, we remember. We honor. And we celebrate the incredible gift of time, love, and second chances. This isn’t just my story—it’s Clara’s and Veronica’s too. It’s a story of family, sacrifice, and the kind of love that never stops giving.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
