As most of of you know, my sweet daughter Tanya needed a heart transplant at the young age of only 11.  Needless to say we were devastated and really did not know much about organ and tissue donation.  Organs need to be the right blood type, they also prefer similar age and weights for certain organs like the heart.  It was also hard to bear the thought that the loss of another child was needed to save yours.  We waited 3 months and 3 weeks at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital aka as Babies Hospital and when we finally received that call on June 28th, 1995 that there was a match for Tanya there was such a stream of mixed emotions....happiness, sadness for the sweet donor Stephanie and her family & fear of what's ahead! 

Tanya did her best at being grateful for what she received by giving back.  She's a wife, a mom and a Register Nurse at the Cath Lab and works with doctors who perform heart catheterizations just as she had done to her many times!  We could not be any more proud of her and her accomplishments! 

This year marks 30 years of her heart transplant!  Please help in any way you can to help others become aware of organ donation!  Most importantly...pleae become an organ donor!  Stephanie, we are FOREVER grateful to you and will continue to pray that you are continuing to flying high and watching over us!
