Maeve The Brave
Team Maeve The Brave celebrated its first year in 2018 setting fantastic numbers. We came in 5th out of 350 teams for total amount raised, which was $15,510. We also came in 2nd for overall attendance at 143 people. Extremely impressive for our first year out.
In 2019, we grew even more! We raised $22,770 (ranked 3rd out of 378 Teams) and had 206 attendees, coming in 2nd place two years in a row.
This year we hope to raise even more money to help support the NJ Sharing Network and to honor our superhero, Maeve The Brave. We hope you can join us in Long Branch, NJ on Sunday, May 17th for our third appearance.
For those of you who don’t know, Maeve Annette Behan passed away on August 13, 2017, a week shy of her fourth birthday. She always wanted to be a superhero and now she truly is. Maeve saved four lives by donating her organs through the NJ Sharing Network. Maeve’s heart saved a one-year old boy, her liver a one-year old girl and her kidneys saved two adult men. All four recipients are doing well. We are so proud of her strength.
Losing Maeve has been unbearable, but her organ donation has been the rainbow at the end of the storm. Maeve was a beautiful little girl who touched so many lives. She was a firecracker and liked to stomp her foot to get her point across. She was also a very loving child. She loved to cuddle on the couch sucking her thumb and twirling her hair. She is forever in our hearts.
Please join us on Sunday, May 17th to help keep her spirt alive within us all.
